The 3rd temple of four kannnon temples in Nagoya

The 3rd kannnon temple in Nagoya is called Jimokuji Temple which is located in North-northwest direction (“Kimon”) from the Nagoya Castle.

The Deva Gate in the photo is a nationally designated important cultural property.

According to the old book, in 597, a man called Tatsumaro Jimoku who is a fisher man caught a purple gold Avalokitesvara-bodhisattva in his cast net and built a house dedicated to Avalokitesvara-bodhisattva.
